Gentle Earwax Removal

We have exciting news!  Nanaimo Hearing Clinic is now certified to perform safe, gentle earwax removal.

This is especially convenient during the COVID pandemic as wait times to see physicians are longer.

Before I go on, you should go back and watch one of my earlier blog posts that talks about how earwax is your friend.  In short, it’s not dirty or bad in many situations.

However, there are times that earwax does need to be removed in order for you to have the best hearing or for hearing aids to work properly.

So here’s what to do if you feel you might have too much earwax.

Make a short appointment for us to have a quick look in your ears.  We can tell both if your earwax is excessive and if it’s safe to remove.

If it does need removal, we will carefully describe the process and costs.  With your permission, we will then use one of three different methods to gently clean out your ear canals.

Most of the time this will take less than 30 minutes.

Finally, we let you look inside your ear with our video camera to see how it's been cleared out.
